The most coveted job of dressing the soon-to-be-princess Kate Middleton on her wedding day is filled. Reports reveal that Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen is proclaimed as the designer of the dress of the year.

Although this was something Kate kept in secret, it was reported in the Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph that Burton will be designing her wedding gown.
“A fashion source said that the dress will be a combination of Middleton’s own design ideas and Burton’s deep knowledge and understanding of high fashion,” the Times reported. Burton, who took over as creative director at Alexander McQueen after the designer’s tragic suicide in February last year, is no stranger to showing off her stunning work at high-profile events for world figures.
It can be remembered that Burton designed the off-the-shoulder gown worn by Sara Buys, bride of Tom Parker Bowles, son of Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Bowles. And more recently she was behind Michelle Obama’s red gown worn at a January White House state dinner.
When asked to confirm about these reports, Burton denied it saying, “I am not doing it.”
But it is a tradition that royal wedding designers swear in secrecy about any involvement in the event.

The Royal Mint has officially released the Royal Wedding coin in UK to commemorate Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage. The couple has been all out on preparing for the big day come April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey.

The Royal Wedding coin holds the value of 5 British pounds equivalent to $8.12 US dollars. Its face value is doubled and actually sells at 10 British pounds.
Prince William and Kate’s image is carved on the front side of the coin. The design came out with the approval from the couple themselves and from Queen Elizabeth II, whose image also appears on the reverse side.
Critics to the coin’s images alleged that Kate “looks somewhat toothy…” with her smile while William’s image “has more hair on his head than has been suggested by recent photographs.”
